GOTV/Election Day
In the Age of Trump, Senator Gounardes faced a challenge from the right as the GOP put up a former nightclub owner Vito Bruno. In a heavily conservative area where Nicole Malliotakis was also facing Max Rose, this was sure to be a narrow fight. In the final days of GOTV, Meridian was called to spin up as many bodies as possible to turnout votes.
We spun up 80 bodies in a matter of hours and targeted swing Election Districts where our people would make the difference. With rigorous 40 minute daily trainings, and bullpens before launch, we drilled specific talking points and persuasion tactics into our canvassers’ heads. We redirected bodies to low performing EDs during Election Day while continuing to pull numbers from pollsites while doing knock and drags.

Our in-person field efforts were one of the only COVID field operations happening and it made the difference. While the Senator was down after Election Day, he came ahead after mail in ballots were counted, with turnout in the swing EDs we hit being a large part of the vote that put him over.
